One of the world’s largest investor-owned energy companies, we own and maintain the ‘grid’ of towers (pylons) and gas pipelines which carries power across Britain. We’re responsible for all electricity transmission in England and Wales, as well as for Great Britain’s gas transmission in its entirety. We also own and manage four of the country’s eight regional gas distribution networks.
You'll be ‘tagged’ to a directorate in the business on day one and over the next 18 months, you’ll typically undertake three placements – two in your home directorate, one elsewhere to broaden your business understanding – each tailored to give you the key skills and knowledge needed to carry out your work. You’ll work with a mentor and a ‘buddy’ to ensure you get the most out of your time on the programme.
By the end of the programme you will have a general overview of our business, a detailed understanding of a specific function, and the skills and qualifications needed to take the next step in your career.
